What we know about you when you read us, why, and the choices you have.

This site is published by the editors of live233today, which decides how the personal information described here is used (the "data controller" under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation).
In short
- You don't need an account to read us, and we never ask for your name or email to read.
- Your preferences are kept in your own browser, not on our servers.
- Ads and analytics, run by other companies, use cookies; where the law requires it we ask you first, and you can change your mind at any time.
- We never sell your personal information.
When you read an article
We count reads so we know which articles people find useful: a read is counted once an article has been open and visible for a few seconds. We store only the number of reads of each article per hour, not who read it. Your browser remembers that it has already counted an article today, so reloading doesn't count it twice.
Like any website, our servers briefly handle your internet (IP) address to deliver pages and to stop abuse, such as repeated automated requests. We don't keep it with what you read.

Clearing your browser's data for this site removes them all.
Reports and messages you send
When you report an article or write to us, we keep what you write, and the name and email address you give, so an editor can deal with it and reply. To stop abuse we keep a one-way code made from your internet address, not the address itself. We use them only to handle your report or message.
Advertising
The site is paid for by advertising. Ad networks and their partners may use cookies, web beacons and similar identifiers, and receive your internet address, to show ads, limit how often you see the same one, measure them and, where you allow it, personalise them to your interests. We don't control these technologies; each network's own policy describes them. The networks we work with are listed, with links to their policies, on our cookies page.
Google, as one of them, uses cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. How Google uses information from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: no advertising or analytics cookie is set until you choose, and you can refuse.
- United States: where your state's law gives you the right, you can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your information for targeted advertising.
- Anywhere: you can turn off personalised ads from Google at adssettings.google.com, and from many other companies at optout.aboutads.info and youronlinechoices.eu.
Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in general: pages viewed, time on a page, the kind of device. We don't use it to identify you.
Companies that handle data for us
Our hosting provider, in the European Union, stores the site and its data, and Cloudflare delivers pages and protects the site from attacks. They act on our instructions. Where data leaves the EU, it is protected by standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
How long we keep things
Reports and messages are kept for up to two years after they are dealt with, then deleted. Read counts contain no personal information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it, and you can complain to your data protection authority. Write to [email protected]; we reply within 30 days.
Children
The site is for a general audience. It is not directed at children, we don't knowingly collect personal information from them, and we don't ask ad networks to personalise ads for them.
Changes
If we change this policy we update the date at the top.
